ROADTRAX

residential / treatment program

*(in-patient) Residential Treatment & Educational Facilities: provide twenty-four (24) hour residential treatment,
including an education component for children and young adults with a mental illness or who are seriously emotionally disturbed.


 

PROGRAM CRITERIA:

  • NO previous creative experience required.
  • A participant must be willing and able to participate in and comply with the structured programming to ensure continuity as a participant in the program.
  • A participant may have co-existing or secondary psychiatric complications; however they must be mild in severity and not prevent participation in the program or present a danger to themselves or others participating or working in the program.
  • A participant who meets the criteria while still residing at an in-patient/residential treatment/educational facility may be considered a candidate for transition to Road Recovery's RECOVERYTRAX program while still in residential care, thus assisting in the continuum of care post discharge from the in-patient/residential treatment/educational facility.
Together, in a working partnership with support from each institution's staff, ROADTRAX is:

 

  • Team building/peer support
  • Short and long-term goal setting and achievement
  • Multi-level adult support and supervision
  • A safe and confidential environment
  • Hands-on training - use of 'state of the art' music/production equipment and supplies

 

ROADTRAX partners with in-
patient/residential
treatment/educational facilities who
provide care for severely emotionally
disturbed/traumatized, addicted,
orphaned, abandoned and neglected
children (ages: 6 to 12) and young
adults (ages: 13 to 22). ROADTRAX is
tailored to meet the needs and goals
set by each institution. ROADTRAX is a
program on the road, traveling to each
institution weekly! Our Action-
Driven ROADTRAX program empowers
young people to face their struggles
and helps them to develop
comprehensive life skills through the
process of creating, planning and
presenting live concert events.


The ROADTRAX staff is comprised of
entertainment industry professionals
who have confronted similar crises and
now wish to share their experience,
knowledge and resources. Through the
performing arts, the ROADTRAX
program utilizes a unique method of
bringing people together in a positive
manor through the creative process,
as an alternative to the negative
behaviors that may have been
exhibited in their
past. ROADTRAX offers participants
the opportunity to develop the
positive skills needed to achieve short
and long-term goals.

ROADTRAX Program:

Meets once per week for 12-14 weeks - sessions take place on location after school or early evenings.
RUNNING TIME: Three (3) hours per once per week
Weekdays: After school or early evenings
PROGRAM LENGTH: 12-14 Weeks

FIRST 10-15 MINUTES - PEER SUPPORT MEETING
(Meeting facilitated by Road Recovery Staff)
Provides an opportunity for program participants to support one another by sharing together
the ups and downs of their daily recovery and personal adversities with Road Recovery's staff.

REMAINING TIME - CREATIVE WORKSHOPS

Under the direction of Road Recovery's staff, following the Peer Support Meeting,
participants create, design and rehearse in preparation for their final concert performance.

PROGRAM FEE: Determined after consultation of needs and an on-site inspection.

music instruction & rehearsal - visual/art production - songwriting - spoken word/poetry - studio programming -
drama/theatrical production - video production - percussion - concert marketing - dance/movement
