PROGRAM CRITERIA:

  • NO previous creative experience required
  • 14-25 years of age
  • 30 days of clean time
  • Participating in substance abuse treatment
  • Desire to stay clean and sober

RECOVERYTRAX is:

  • Short & long-term goal setting and achievement
  • Multi-level adult support and supervision
  • A safe and confidential environment
  • Hands-on training/use of 'state of the art' music/production equipment and supplies

RECOVERYTRAX is a unique and powerful solution at the MOST critical stage when these young people are faced with challenges of building a sober network while encountering the triggers of daily life (which can often feel like a rollercoaster ride). RECOVERYTRAX helps young people navigate the real world while establishing an ongoing partnership that collaborates with each
participant's clinical treatment team.

 

Guided by entertainment industry professionals and supported by a community of like-minded peers, RECOVERYTRAX empowers young people in recovery to face their struggles and helps them develop comprehensive life skills by creating, planning and presenting live concert events.

RECOVERYTRAX Program:
Running Time: Program meets two (2) times a week for three (3) hours per-single-program session
Mondays: 6:00pm-9:00pm
Fridays: 6:00pm-9:00pm
Location: Manhattan, NY (on West 41st Street, with easy access from Port Authority)

FIRST HOUR – PEER SUPPORT MEETING
Participants, staff, and guest speakers share the ups and downs of daily recovery and personal adversities.

NEXT 10 MINUTES – BUSINESS MEETING
Staff and participants collectively address self-governing aspects of the program  
and organize upcoming live performance events and other creative projects.

REMAINING TIME – CREATIVE WORKSHOPS
Under the direction of entertainment industry professionals, participants create, design, and rehearse
in preparation for scheduled live concert events and other creative projects.

Tuition Fee: based on individual needs after in-person program orientation
Commitment: Three (3) months [Limited scholarship programs available]

Road Recovery provides educational/performance workshops and peer support.
Road Recovery and its Trax Programs do not provide medical care or maintain protected health information for its participants.
